410 SPRINT CARS COMING TO BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY!
Heffner Racing Co-Promotes Night of Wings Show June 19

Swedesboro, NJ (April 27, 2012) – Bridgeport Speedway is thrilled to announce that 410 sprint cars will return to the raceway on Tuesday, June 19, for the Night of Wings show featuring a 25 lap race worth $7,000 to the winner (after posting a $100 gambler fee or $5,000 if the winning driver chooses not to participate in the gambler fee.) “Take the Green” money for this very special race will be a cool $500.

New track promoters Doug and Gena Hoffman are pleased to welcome Mike Heffner, owner of the Lelands.com-sponsored Heffner Racing Enterprises team, (piloted by 410 sprint car driver Daryn Pittman) as co-promoter of the race.

“We have heard many positive reviews of Bridgeport Speedway under the Hoffman promotional team and I am excited to be a part of the return of 410 Sprint Cars to Southern New Jersey,” commented Heffner.

A unique format is being planned for this event.  Upon entry to the grounds, drivers will draw a pill to determine their heat race groups. Each grouping will go out for time trials and an inversion of the top four (4) will set the starting lineup of each respective heat race. Drivers not in the top four (4) of their groups will be lined up in the qualifying events by time. The first two (2) finishers in each heat race are eligible for the feature redraw and the fastest qualifier in each grouping will be added as well providing the driver finishes the heat race in a qualifying position. All other heat race qualifiers will be assigned a starting position in the main event by time.

The top two finishers from each heat race will receive entry into the Foot Dash for Cash, with the victor of this running race getting more than $1,000 in cash and contingency prizes. A multitude of contingency awards is also planned, including a fast time award of at least $200 from Jakes Carts. To complete the show, the TSRS Sprint Cars will be on the card with Sprint Cars from PASS and CRSA invited as well. Plus, $.50 Chicken Wings will be served from the concession area on this special night.

Pit gates open at 4:00 p.m. the day of the race, with grandstand turnstiles unlocking at 5:00 p.m. A pre-race fan fest is scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m. Hot laps get underway at 7:00 p.m. with racing scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. An entry fee of $100 per car will include three pit passes for this event. Additional pit admissions are set at $35 per person. Adult grandstand admission is $25 for advanced purchase and $30 on the day of the show. Further information on advanced ticket sales is forthcoming. A rain date of Wednesday, June 20 has been established for this event.

Jason Sides started on the pole of the 25-lap main event with Daryn Pittman second and Rahmer third. Sides shot in to the lead with Rahmer grabbing second before the first lap was completed. The top three remained the same for the first nine laps.

Greg Hodnett was up from sixth to challenge Pittman for the third spot, but then it was Pittman going after Rahmer for second. Pittman’s slider by Rahmer in turns one and two got him second for a moment, but he got a little high off the corner allowing Rahmer and Hodnett to drive by.

Hodnett’s car was working well and he got by Rahmer for second with 12 laps to go. Pittman, Rahmer and Lincoln Speedway Outlaw winner Danny Dietrich were now locked in a battle for third.

The racing was extremely close as the laps counted down.

“That was the most fun I’ve had in a racecar in a long time,” said Pittman. “We needed a good run like that in the A-main.”

On Local Auto Racing: World of Outlaws set to invade Williams Grove Print E-mail

TheSentinal By Brad Vores, Sentinel Correspondent

Unlike its unblemished record against the All Star Circuit of Champions who came to town two weeks ago, the Pennsylvania Posse will find the going getting much tougher this weekend as the World of Outlaws invade Williams Grove Speedway for the first time this season.

And the Posse have been shut out during the last three WoO sanctioned events at the Grove as two-time and defending champion Jason Meyers went on a tear in July, winning the Summer Nationals and then backed that win up with a double whammy in the Williams Grove National Open.

But the Posse can breath a little because Jason Meyers is no longer on tour with the Outlaws, as he fell off the circuit after announcing he would only run the first 14 races of the current season and then become a family man.

So things could be a little bit easier this weekend right? Just wait a second.

While the likes of Greg Hodnett and Daryn Pittman – both who set back the Outlaws at the Grove in 2011 are more than able to carry the torch for the local contingent – the Outlaws come to town loaded with some of the best talent around, led by current points leader and veteran driver Sammy Swindell.

Swindell seems to be better than ever this season, already knocking off four feature wins while points runner-up Donny Schatz has three wins heading into Pennsylvania. Other drivers that have won on the Outlaw tour this season are Joey Saldana, Craig Dollansky, Tim Kaeding, Chad Kemenah and Danny Lasoski.

Of course the Pennsylvania swing is always the homecoming for former regulars Lucas Wolfe and Cody Darrah and both would like nothing more than to win a World of Outlaws race at their home track.

But the Outlaws will have their hands full not only with Hodnett, who has been the top performing member of the Posse against the Outlaws over the last five seasons but also Pittman, Fred Rahmer, Lance Dewease, Brian Montieth, Danny Dietrich, Logan Schuchart and more.

The second annual Morgan Cup Challenge will also be contested on Saturday night pitting the top five finishing World of Outlaw regulars and the top five finishing Posse drivers from last season’s National Open. The 12-lap dash pays $4,000 to win and bragging rights for the season. The winning team gets to display the Morgan Cup trophy for a year. Jason Sides won the Cup for the Outlaws last year.

Time trials set the field for both nights of action this weekend and fans will be treated to the first two nights of fireworks this season as well.

Port Royal – Port Royal Fairgrounds Speedway will host Kids Easter Night this Saturday, April 7 at 6 PM featuring double features for the Aumiller’s Insurance 410 sprint cars along with AB Auto Glass Late Models, Miller’s Auto Parts Pro Stocks and a Casner’s Service/Juniata Tire Enduro Dash.
